People driving on Highway 60 near Republic called 911 when they noticed something strange....a child driving a minivan. Greene County deputies say those tips led straight to the father who was arrested.
Greene County deputies responded to the Alpine Village in the 7500 block of West US Highway 60 after receiving the calls.
Deputies say they found the van and then the father and child. The man had several outstanding warrants.
The child is safe and now in her mother's care.
"The decisions this person made could have ended in a very tragic situation for several innocent people," says Sheriff Jim Arnott. "Thankfully, the outcome wasn't different and no one was injured."
Deputies say the father could face child endangerment charges.
