No Kids Hurt After Car Collides With Springfield School Bus

A bus carrying students from Hickory Hills collided with a car on east Division at Marlow in northeast Springfield Thursday morning.

Rescuers had to cut a 16-year-old driver out of the car.

The Highway Patrol says the driver tried to turn in front of the bus and was hit.

His injuries are not life-threatening.

The driver was said to be unresponsive when crews arrived on scene, but witnesses later reported he was conscious and talking.

A Springfield schools spokeswoman tells KTTS News neither the bus driver nor any of the kids on the bus were hurt.

The car was totaled.
