Following a heated and emotional hearing on Thursday, the Senate Judiciary Committee will take a vote on Friday to take the nomination of Judge Brett Kavanaugh for the Supreme Court to the full US Senate on Saturday.
The Senate is expected to take on a procedural vote on Saturday, which will allow for the Senate to finish the confirmation process next week.
Of the 21 members of the committee, 11 are Republicans and 10 are Democrats. All 10 Democrats are expected to vote against Kavanaugh’s nomination on Friday. Ten of 11 Republicans are likely to vote in favor of Kavanaugh, with Jeff Flake, a retiring Republican senator from Arizona, being a question mark for the Republicans.
