The Logan Rogersville Wildcats and Springfield Catholic Fightin’ Irish are the champions of the 73rd Annual Greenwood Blue and Gold Basketball Tournament at JQH Arena in Springfield.

Gold Division Championship: Catholic 74, Ozark 64

The Fightin’ Irish stay undefeated on the season and take the Gold Division for the second straight year, holding off a fourth quarter charge by the Tigers.

Catholic, the top seed in the Gold, led 15-13 after one quarter and 33-25 at halftime.

The Irish extended the lead to 55-41 headed into the final quarter, but Ozark wouldn’t let the game get out of hand, cutting Catholic’s lead to five points on three separate occasions in the final three minutes.

But the Irish hit some big free throws in the final two minutes to seal the win.

Charlie O’Reilly, who dominated the contest at times, finished with a game high 25 points for Catholic, while A.J. Elliott led Ozark with 19 points.

Blue Division Championshp: Rogersville 57, Parkview 53 (OT)

The Wildcats have won their first Blue and Gold Tournament title since 2003, beating the top seeded Parkview Vikings in an overtime thriller in the Blue Division finals at JQH Arena.

Parkview got a slam dunk from Latre Morrison with 12 seconds left in regulation to send the game into overtime, and went ahead by three points twice in the extra frame.

But Rogersville’s Luke Vandersnick got a quick bucket off an inbound pass and was fouled, connecting on the free throw to give the Wildcats a 55-53 lead with 27 seconds left in overtime.

Cade Blevins added two more free throws for Rogersville with six seconds remaining to seal the win by four.

Rykor Strong’s 17  points led the Wildcats, with Vandersnick adding 13.

Nakai Johnson scored 17 to pace the Vikings.

It’s the first Blue and Gold championship game to go overtime since Glendale’s 92-88 win over Willard in the Gold Division finals.

West Plains 68, Willard 60

West Plains beat Willard 68-60 in the Blue Division third place game at JQH Arena, but the Tigers’ Daniel Abreau set the Blue and Gold scoring record with 125 points in four games.

It took a three pointer in the closing seconds, with the game already decided, for the junior to top Jasen Fronabarger’s record of 122 points that has stood since 1994.

Abreau came into the day scoring 34, 38, and 24 points, respectively, in his first three games of the tournament.

He went into the second half needing 11 points to tie the record, but scored just two in the third quarter before going on a scoring run in the last two minutes of regulation.

Abreau finished with a game high 29 points.

Willard took a 27-26 lead at the half and carried a 42-40 advantage into the fourth quarter, but the Zizzers gradually widened the lead in the final period.

Garrett Warren scored 13 points to lead the Zizzers.

Republic 69, Camdenton 54

The Tigers rolled to a win over the Lakers in the Gold Division third place contest at The Q, going ahead 48-18 at the half and holding off a fourth quarter run by Camdenton.
