What could be annual event in Springfield brought out police and firefighters for a non-emergency call.

The Greene County 100 Club had a charity event at the Jordan Valley Ice Park where law enforcement and fire crews faced off on the ice to raise money for the organization.

The chief of police says the money is very important to ease the financial burdens for families that have lost a loved ones in the line of duty.

Approximately $3,500 was raised at Saturday’s hockey match.

By the way, the Springfield Fire Department won 6-3.
