A father and his daughter escaped a burning home in Republic on Saturday after a car he was working on backfired and caught the roof ablaze.
The fire leapt from the garage to the roof before consuming the house in flames.
Firefighters arrived soon thereafter and fought against heavy winds to put the fire out.
The home is significantly damaged but the flames have been extinguished.
