A foster mother from Christian County has been indicted by a grand jury on child abuse charges.
Court papers say Shara Foster was charged because she failed to remove a child’s hands from hot running water which caused serious physical injury.
Foster’s lawyer says his client is the one who called Social Services to report the child’s injuries and that she willingly surrendered her cell phone to investigators.
Attorneys for Foster also say Foster and her husband have been model foster parents and have been requested to appear on several panels to educate and encourage other foster parents.
Prosecutors have filed a motion to compel water heater testing as part of the evidence against Foster.
Foster, who has pleaded not guilty, was released from jail on a $10,000 bond.
