One of many tornadoes that touched down in the Ozarks Tuesday night hit just off Highway NN in Ozark.

The city of Ozark says at approximately 8:40 p.m. last night a tornado is believed to have touched down in the Waterford Subdivision.

An estimated one hundred homes have been damaged, approximately two dozen homes have severe damage, along with several motor vehicles being severely damaged.

Three individuals were transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Ozark Police are encouraging individuals that don’t live in the neighborhood or have family in the area to stay clear of the subdivision.

Currently there are law enforcement officers posted at each entrance to the subdivision to maintain security and prevent looting.

Officers are turning people away from the area at this time. Christian County Emergency Management has assembled a team and will be deploying them to begin collecting information and performing a damage/needs assessment.

All calls from people wanting to volunteer, donate something, seeking help, etc should contact the Emergency Management Office at 417-582-5400.
