We now know where medical marijuana companies can and cannot set up shop in Springfield after City Council members passed a zoning ordinance Monday night.
The bill says medical marijuana dispensaries and facilities must be 200 feet away from churches and daycares, and 1,000 feet away from Springfield schools.
Dispensaries and facilities will also have to pay a $108 zoning certificate fee to ensure their location has been approved. Usual zoning certificate fees are $44.
The bill also restricts companies from being open to the public from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. each day.
After a continuation of the public hearing, #sgfcouncil passes amended substitute bill No. 1 to require medical marijuana dispensaries and manufacturing facilities to have 1,000 ft of distance from elementary and secondary schools and 200 ft from churches or daycare centers.
