Tennis Ball Size Hail And Tornadoes Possible North Of Springfield Tonight

For the third straight day, tornadoes are in the forecast for parts of the Ozarks.

The National Weather Service says areas north of I-44 are in line for up to tennis ball size hail, 70 mile per hour winds and even a strong tornado or two from Wednesday evening through late Wednesday night.

The risk will lessen heading into Springfield and southern Missouri.

Flooding and flash flooding will be possible again Wednesday night as storms develop and move over many of the same areas that received flooding rains the last several days.

Between one and two inches of rain will be possible with some localized amounts of up to three inches.

A flash flood watch is in effect from Wednesday evening through Thursday morning for areas north and west of Springfield.
