Flooding Forces Closure Of Osage River To Recreational Boaters

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the Osage River is closed to recreational boating traffic from the Missouri River to Bagnell Dam.

The patrol’s Water Patrol Division has been monitoring the river and has determined conditions are no longer safe for boaters due to a strong current and excessive debris from recent flooding.

Closing this section of the river will also reduce additional damage to docks and other property.

The closure is in effect until further notice.
