Greene County Clerk Shane Schoeller today is reminding new residents who recently moved to Greene County and live in the Walnut Grove R-5 School District boundaries that they have until this Wednesday, July 10th , to register to be eligible for the August 6th Special Election being called for and held by the Walnut Grove R-5 School District.

To register to vote, you can come to 940 N. Boonville, Room 113 in the Historic Courthouse or at a branch of the Springfield-Greene County Library. Mail-in (postcard) registrations will also be accepted if they are postmarked by Wednesday, July 10th
.
When registering to vote, be sure to bring along an acceptable form of identification, such as a valid driver’s license, current utility bill or bank statement.

Under state and federal laws, registered voters are not prevented from voting for moving within a county, but a change of residency for a voter’s registration address must be completed in writing on or before the day of the election.

Schoeller urges anyone who has moved or changed his/her name to contact the office as soon as possible to avoid unnecessary delays to help ensure a better voting experience on the day of the Election.
