Get ready for more heat and humidity!

The National Weather Service says an excessive heat watch runs from Wednesday all the way through Saturday for areas north of I-44.

It extends along and north of a line from Neosho to Bolivar to Vichy.

Heat index readings of 103 to 108 will be possible, with the heat and humidity combining to make it feel like 100 in Springfield and areas south of I-44.

Heat illness is possible for anyone spending a lot of time outdoors.

Make sure to limit outdoor activities, drink plenty of water, wear sunscreen and light clothing, and if you’re doing work outdoors, try to get it done early or very late in the day.
