UPDATE: Gary Gibson has been introduced as the new general manager of Springfield City Utilities in a news conference Thursday morning.
Gibson has been with C-U for 28 years, and will succeed Scott Miller, who is retiring at the end of the year.
Gibson has served as associate general manager of customer operations and communications.
The Board of Public Utilities voted unanimously to name Gibson to the position after a two year search.
