Walnut Grove Sees Tax Levy Measure Fail While Webster County Votes Yes

Voters in Greene County disapproved of a tax levy increase for Walnut Grove R-5 school district while Webster County approved a tax levy increase for the Seymour School District.

Walnut Grove is proposed an increase of $1.07 per every hundred dollars through 2040 to provide funds for increased safety and security as well as repairs throughout the district. The proposal failed by a margin of 5%, with 45% voting for, and 55% voting against.

The Seymour School District proposed an increase of 75 cents per every hundred dollars that will go to future projects, covering needed school supplies and other repairs and operating projects. The levy is now an estimated $3.50 for every hundred dollars. Around 64% of voters approved the measure.
