Sarcoxie Family Sues State After Being Rejected for Medical Marijuana Growing License

A family from Sarcoxie is suing the state of Missouri after they were passed over in their application to grow medical marijuana.

The lawsuit filed on Friday listed Paul Callicoat as the plaintiff and came only a day after the Department of Health and Senior Services randomly granted 60 licenses to Missouri farmers to grow the recently legalized plant.

Callicoat’s lawsuit says the state has violated the “Right to Farm” amendment passed in 2014.
