A suspect is in custody after the murder of a prominent St. Louis area attorney.

Timothy Michael Banowetz, 28, is charged with first degree murder in the death of attorney Randy Gori. Banowetz graduated from the College of the Ozarks and travelled on a College-sponsored trip to France, Luxembourg, and Belgium with WWII veterans.

He attended the St. Louis College of Pharmacy when the incident happened and was considered a student in good standing.

The Madison County Sheriff’s Captain says Gori’s actions likely saved the lives of others in the house at the time of the murder.
