Arkansas State University Lifts Lockdown After Overnight Shooting

Things are getting back to normal at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro after a late night shooting prompted a campus-wide lockdown.

Television station KAIT reports around 700 students who are scattered across campus sheltered in place until 5 a.m. Wednesday.

The shooting was reported just after midnight.

The university released a statement saying a student was shot by an unknown assailant in the parking lot of Red Wolf Den Apartments.

The student was transported to a local hospital and is being treated for non-life threatening injuries.
