Another protest like the one Saturday afternoon is scheduled for later today in Springfield.
Saturday’s protest drew hundreds of people and lasted several hours.
Sunday’s protest is listed on Facebook as “Protest Against Police Brutality For George Floyd” and will begin around 3 p.m. near Glenstone and Battlefield, the same intersection it was at Saturday.
Police describe the protest yesterday as mostly peaceful, some altercations were reported to the police however.
A groupon a 3-wheeler had a gun pointed at them while trying to avoid the protests, two cars were vandalized and a thin blue line flag was ripped off a vehicle. One man was punched several times. No arrests have been made at this time.
