The next phase of Springfield’s Road to Recovery plan includes requiring people to wear face masks in most public places for 90 days.
Phase 3A runs from July 16 through October 14.
Springfield-Greene County Health Director Clay Goddard says if everyone starts wearing masks, cases should start to drop in the next two weeks.

But just who will enforce the ordinance?
City spokeswoman Cora Scott says because it’s a complaint-based ordinance, the public should call 864-1010 if someone is breaking the rules.
But Chief Paul Williams says businesses shouldn’t feel like they are responsible for making customers follow the rules.
He says if people won’t comply, just call police and they’ll be dispatched to help.
Violating the ordinance can lead to a $100 fine.
But the new rule does include some exceptions.
