Highway Patrol Identifies Three Injured In Boat Explosion At Lake Of The Ozarks

Three people are being treated at local hospitals following a boat explosion near Point Randall Resort at Lake of the Ozarks.

The Highway Patrol says the boat had just re-fueled Sunday afternoon when the driver started the first engine, then a second engine.

The explosion threw the driver from the boat and into the water.

Another person standing on the dock was thrown into the water, and a worker at the gas pump was also hurt.

Troopers say Debra Kiely, 52, from O’Fallon, Missouri, was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.

Dennis Kiely, 55, from O’Fallon had minor injuries, as well as the worker, Megan Bartels, 20, Montreal.

Following the explosion, the vessel became adrift and further pushed away from the gas dock where it burned to the waterline.
