Webster County Sheriff’s Deputy Killed In Crash On I-44 In Marshfield

Law enforcement from around the state are paying tribute to a Webster County deputy who died Thursday in a crash on I-44 near Marshfield.

The Highway Patrol says Justin Burney, 26, Marshfield, died when another vehicle went off the road, through the median cable, and into the path of Burney’s car.

Two of Burney’s kids were hurt. A six year old girl  suffered serious injuries, and a three year old boy had minor injuries.

The driver of the other vehicle suffered moderate injuries.

Troopers say everyone involved in the crash was wearing a seatbelt.

Burney was a sergeant, who worked primarily at the Webster County Jail.
