National Weather Service Cancels Winter Weather Advisory

The National Weather Service has cancelled the winter weather advisory that had been in effect until noon Tuesday for areas north and west of Springfield.

Forecasters say due to warm ground temperatures and temps hovering around or just above 32 degrees, the advisory is no longer needed.

Rain will still move into the area Tuesday morning, but no wintry precipitation impacts are expected.

Roads across the Ozarks are mainly just wet after 2-3 inches of rain fell since Monday morning.

We’ve had a few reports of slick bridges and overpasses, including the bridge over I-44 at the Phillipsburg exit (118 mile marker), but the roads themselves have been in pretty good shape, with road temps between 36 and 38 degrees along the interstate.

We also had a rollover wreck east of Joplin at I-44 and Highway 249.

There have also been reports of slick parking lots from Webb City up to Bolivar.
