A Greene County Sheriff’s deputy is out of the hospital, almost two weeks after he was hit by a car during a high-speed chase south of Bolivar.
Lieutenant Steve Westbrook was welcomed home by family and friends in Highlandville Tuesday.
He was trying to set up spike strips when a car driven by Seth Hay hit his patrol car on December 11, throwing him 50 feet.
Westbrook suffered multiple broken bones.
He’s expected to make a full recovery.
The sheriff says Hay hit Westbrook on purpose.
The chase started after deputies were called to a domestic disturbance and Hay fled the scene.
