The boyfriend of a woman found dead on Thursday has been charged in her murder and the murder of one of her children.
Brandon King has been charged with two counts of first degree murder, one count of child abuse resulting in death, two counts of first degree assault, two counts of abuse of a child, and seven counts of armed criminal action. Police say King confessed to the crime and said he had planned to kill everyone in the house as he was facing a new charge in Christian County and planned on fleeing the state without witnesses.
Police arrived at a home on Scott after a 911 caller said a woman was there who had been cut by a knife. Police were aware of the possibility of a man still at the house whose location was unknown.
Upon arrival, authorities found a woman dead on the living room floor and a teenage boy dead in one of the bedrooms.
A witness at the scene said a 14-year-old girl exited the house with several stab wounds. The witness then entered the house saw a man flee from the house. The witness then grabbed a 7 year old girl and ran.
Later when searching for a suspect, an officer saw a man in a grey hoodie running westbound on Lynn and Brown. The officer told him to stop, and the man, identified as Brandon King, stopped and put his hands up.
