Highway Patrol Trooper Shot In South Springfield, Suspect Arrested

 The Highway Patrol has arrested a man for shooting a trooper Friday night after a pursuit in south Springfield.

The Highway Patrol says the pursuit ended around 11 p.m. Friday night near Amory and Reed.

The suspect got out of the car and exchanged gunfire with the trooper.

The trooper was listed in stable condition with an injury to his right eye.

But officials weren’t sure if it was from debris or a bullet.

Troopers arrested Justin Michael Jackman around 7:45 a.m. Saturday near Lark and Fremont.

Authorities are interviewing the man but he has not been charged.

KY3 says the trooper’s identity has not been released.

A Missouri State Highway trooper is in stable condition after a shooting last night in south Springfield.

Troopers arrested a man suspected of shooting the trooper after a chase that ended near South Reed Avenue.
