One person is in custody after a fire at an apartment complex in Springfield on New Year’s Day.
That fire happened at the 2900 block of East University but was contained to just one unit.
Police were on scene for a different matter around 3 a.m. when they discovered the fire.
Fire officials say they’re investigating the situation as possible arson.
