Snow, Ice Amounts Start To Come Into Focus

The National Weather Service has released an update on the winter storm expected to impact the Ozarks Tuesday night through Thursday night.

There’s a Winter Storm Watch in effect for the entire area from Tuesday night through Thursday night.

Areas along and north of I-44 could get at least two inches of snow. One model shows areas north of I-44 will get at least six inches or more.

The heaviest snowfall will be to the north of Springfield.

Ice is expected across the Ozarks, with anywhere from a tenth of an inch to a quarter of an inch expected across much of the listening area.

Springfield could get up to a quarter of an inch of ice before the wintry mix Wednesday turns over to snow.

Branson should get less than a tenth of an inch.

Some areas from Rogersville to Marshfield to south of Rolla could get anywhere from a quarter to a half an inch of ice.

And some places in Northwest Arkansas could get even heavier amounts.

Up to three-quarters of an inch of ice will be possible near Harrison and Mountain Home.
