(KTTS News) — Two men are being held in connection with the shooting death of a man on the parking lot of a Springfield business.

Springfield Police say Colin D. Loderhose, 25, from Springfield worked at Anchor Tactical, a gun shop.

A GoFundMe account has been set up to help the family.

Police were called to the business just after 9 a.m. Wednesday.

When they arrived, Loderhose had a gunshot wound.

He died at the hospital.

Two men fled the scene, but a citizen followed them and called 911.

Police stopped their vehicle in the parking lot of the Kensington Park Apartments at 1303 S Lexington.

Police arrested Zachary A. Cano, 20, and Jonathan C. Peace, 20, both from Springfield.

Cano is being held for second-degree murder.

Peace is being held on stealing charges.

Charges have not been filed.

Both men were booked into the Greene County Jail.

Police have not released any other details about what led to the shooting.

On July 6, 2022, at approximately 9:03 a.m., the Springfield Police Department was dispatched to Anchor Tactical at 2346 S. Campbell Ave., to investigate a shooting.

When officers arrived, they located a male employee, identified as Colin D. Loderhose, 25, from Springfield, with a gunshot wound.

Loderhose was transported to a local hospital for treatment but succumbed to his injuries.

Loderhose’s family has been notified.

After the shooting, two suspects fled the scene in a vehicle, which was followed by a citizen who called 911 and provided a vehicle description.

Responding officers located the vehicle in the parking lot of the Kensington Park Apartments at 1303 S. Lexington.

The suspects were standing outside of the vehicle and were both taken into custody without incident.

The suspects were identified as Jonathan C. Peace, 20, and Zachary A. Cano, 20, both from Springfield.

They were arrested and booked into the Greene County Jail.

Peace was arrested for felony stealing and Cano was arrested for 2nd degree murder.

The Springfield Police Department’s Homicide Unit is investigating this incident and will present the case to the Greene County Prosecutor’s Office for review and the filing of formal charges.

Springfield Police are now working a shooting this morning at a business on South Campbell as a homicide.

Police say the victim who was shot died after a shooting at Anchor Tactical Supply.

It happened on the parking lot of the business.

Two people were arrested near Kansas and Catalpa.
