(KTTS News) — The Nixa School Board has fired an agriculture teacher charged with having sex with a student.
Lena Stewart is charged with child sex crimes, including statutory rape.
The 16-year-old boy told investigators he was worried that if he didn’t continue the relationship, Stewart would give him a bad grade in shop class.

After following the process and timeline laid out in Board Policy and state law, the Nixa Board of Education unanimously voted to terminate Lena Stewart’s employment with Nixa Public Schools at this morning’s Board of Education meeting.
The district will continue to follow policy and procedure and cooperate fully with investigators in this matter.
