(KTTS News) — Construction gets underway next month on Highway 160 in Nixa.

Crews will build a continuous green ‘T” intersection at Highway 160 and Highway AA; a continuous flow intersection at Highway 160 and Highway CC; and rebuild a bridge over the James River.

Work on the $12.4 million dollar project begins next month and should be finished by 2024.

MoDOT will hold a public meeting Tuesday afternoon from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Nixa City Hall.

Those interested to learn more about the U.S. Route 160 Intersection Improvements Project at Christian County Routes AA and CC north of Nixa are invited to a public meeting on Tuesday, June 27, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.

The public meeting is scheduled for 4:30-6 p.m. on Tuesday, June 27, at Nixa City Hall, 715 W. Mt. Vernon Street, Nixa. No formal presentation is planned. Those who attend may come at any time between 4:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. to learn about the project and ask questions.

Anyone unable to attend the in-person meeting can view the same exhibits at an online public meeting available at www.modot.org/southwest.

Here’s a look at the project:

  • Construct a continuous green T intersection at U.S. Route 160 and Christian County Route AA
  • Construct a continuous flow intersection at U.S. Route 160 and Christian County Route CC
  • U.S. Route 160 bridge rehabilitation over James River Overflow

Traffic Impacts:

  • Nighttime lane closings on Route 160 at times
  • Narrowed lanes and traffic shifts on Route 160
  • Two lanes open on Route 160 in each direction during daytime hours. Traffic congestion expected on Route 160.
  • Road Closures on Christian County Routes AA and CC

Weather and/or construction delays will alter the work schedule.
