(KTTS News) — Smithfield Foods, the world’s largest pork processor, is closing 35 Missouri hog farms, cutting more than 90 jobs.
It’s permanently closing farms in Newtown, Lucerne, and Princeton in a cost-cutting move.
It comes as Tyson Foods closes four chicken processing plants, including one in Noel, Missouri.
Tyson plans to eliminate 3,000 jobs.
