(KTTS News) – A high school student from Lamar was attacked after a football game Friday night.
The Lamar R-1 School District says the student was attacked by an individual as the team headed into the locker room at the end of the game.
The Lamar Police Department says the assault occurred directly south of the stadium, near the intersection of 6th and Maple.
Police say the juvenile suspects have been identified and are not students of either school involved in the game. There were no current football players involved in the assault.
The injured student is in stable condition.
One juvenile is in custody and is being held at the Jasper County Juvenile Detention Center for 1st Degree Assault.
