Governor Parson says Walter Barton will be executed early Tuesday evening for murdering the manager of a mobile home park in Ozark nearly 30 years ago.
Barton is scheduled to die by lethal injection just after 6:00 p.m. Tuesday at the state prison in Bonne Terre.
Police say Gladys Kuehler, 81, was stabbed more than 50 times by Barton in 1991.
This is the first execution in the nation since March 5th.
When asked about moving forward with the execution, Parson says he does not see any reason to intervene.
